2012 Results

First and foremost, Keep Paddlin’ sends out a big thank you to all who came out for Kommona Paddle 2012! Each and every one of you truly represented what paddling is all about. This year Mother Nature threw us very challenging weather conditions with SSE 10-15mph winds, with even greater gusts, and thunderstorms to round out the morning. Despite all the weather obstacles that came our way, of the 76 registered, 58 paddlers hit the water with smiles on Saturday morning. We are extremely proud of all who came out and just went for it!

Kommona Paddle is about sportsmanship, inspiration, hope, unity, and always believing that anything is possible, especially when we meet obstacles head on, one stroke at a time. The 2012 Paddle truly demonstrated each of these aspects as it brought together elite competitors and first time paddlers alike. Stand-Up and Prone Paddlers, Kayaks and Surf skis all paddled side by side, working hard in the waves and cross chop.

Thank you for bringing all your spirit and heart, making this event ever stronger each year! With each race, we gain more knowledge, learning and moving toward the best event possible with every paddler who joins our soulful community of watermen and waterwomen. Keep spreading the good word and keep doing small things with great love! Keep Paddlin’.
